Jeffrey D. Goldstein jgoldstein@slglaw.com PRINCIPAL Jeffrey D. Goldstein is a co-founder of the firm and heads the firm's business practice. Mr. Goldstein's practice focuses on advising companies and individuals in regard to business matter and on litigation of business disputes. Recently, Mr. Goldstein successfully defended a Texas internet marketing company sued under Maryland's new anti-spam act. The Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland granted judgment to the defendant company after finding that the Maryland statute is unconstitutionally vague, and that it did not apply to the internet marketing company that did not actually send the emails. Mr. Goldstein also regularly advises clients in regard to corporate, employment, and internet/e-commerce related matters. He serves as "outside general counsel" to many companies, including, construction companies, software companies, government contractors, public relations firms, medical practices, and many other types of businesses. Mr. Goldstein received his undergraduate degree in political communications from the George Washington University and his law degree from George Washington University National Law Center. Mr. Goldstein is licensed to practice before all of the state and federal courts in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is a member of Maryland State Bar Association, the Montgomery County and Fairfax County Bar Associations, as well as the Litigation Section of the District of Columbia Bar. Born in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and raised in Huntington, New York, Mr. Goldstein has lived in Montgomery County since 1987.
